Maity Consulting Ltd has today been accredited as a Living Wage Employer. Their Living Wage commitment will see everyone working at Maity Consulting Ltd receive a minimum hourly wage of £10.90 in the UK or £11.95 in London. Both rates are significantly higher than the government minimum for over 23s, which currently stands at £10.42 per hour.
Maity Consulting Ltd is a delivery-centric management consulting organisation providing clients with comprehensive services and resources designed to support project and programme delivery at the expected pace, time and quality.
The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to living costs. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers who wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. Since 2011, the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 450,000 people and put over £2 billion extra into the pockets of low-paid workers.
“At Maity Consulting Ltd, we have always paid our staff a real living wage, and The UK Living Wage accreditation is our commitment to continue this policy for the future. We value our staff, and ensuring they have liveable earnings and a decent living standard is the right thing to do, but it also makes good business sense – improving staff motivation, retention and commitment.”
Katherine Chapman, Director of Living Wage Foundation, said: “We’re delighted that Maity Consulting Ltd has joined the movement of over 12,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to ensure all their staff earn enough to live on.
“They join thousands of small businesses and household names such as Burberry, Barclays, Everton Football Club and many more. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer, and they, like Maity Consulting Ltd, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”
